DoorMe Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

DoorMe ("we," "us," "our") operates a mobile application and website that allow hosts to create short-form instructional videos about their properties, and allow guests to search and view those videos. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding it.

2. Information We Collect

• Account information: name, email address, and password (or third-party login credentials) for hosts and guests.
• Host content: video recordings, captions, and associated metadata (room/appliance labels) that hosts upload.
• Listing information: property address or QR-code identifiers used for guest discovery.
• Payment information: subscription billing is processed by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
• Usage data: app/website interactions, search queries, device type, and IP address, collected automatically for service improvement and security.
• Location data: approximate location may be used if a guest searches for a listing by address.

3. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

• Provide and operate the search and video-viewing functionality
• Process host subscription billing
• Verify host and listing accounts
• Improve and troubleshoot the service
• Communicate service updates, billing notices, and support responses
• Comply with legal obligations

4. How We Share Information

• Guests viewing host content: videos and listing information a host publishes are visible to guests who access that listing.
• Service providers: we share data with vendors who help operate the service, including Cloudflare (video hosting/storage/CDN) and Stripe (payment processing). These providers are contractually restricted from using your data for other purposes.
• Legal compliance: we may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights and safety of users or the public.
• We do not sell personal information to third parties.

5. Data Retention

Host video content and listing data are retained for as long as the associated subscription is active, plus a limited period thereafter for backup and legal purposes, after which it is deleted upon request or account closure.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to opt out of certain data uses. Residents of California, the EU/EEA, and other jurisdictions with specific privacy laws (CCPA, GDPR, etc.) may have additional statutory rights.

7. Children's Privacy

DoorMe is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in applicable jurisdictions), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Minors may not appear in any host-uploaded video content, under any circumstances. This is a strict prohibition, not a consent-based exception — hosts may not include children in welcome videos, room/appliance videos, or any other content uploaded to the platform. Content depicting minors will be removed, and repeat violations may result in account termination.

8. Data Security

We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app, website, or email prior to taking effect.
